Have you fed up with usual chicken shawarma, then try a new shawarma with falafel. Falafel a classic middle eastern recipe, made with chick piece. It's also so convenient for vegans, as it's available in pretty much every single country. My favorite way to enjoy it is with pita bread, and homemade Mayonaise and cooked or raw veggies. Veg Shawarma recipe is a dish that can be had as a snack or main course. Shawarma is a favorite dish that everyone loves to eat. Falafel is traditionally made from chick piece, please use raw chick piece to make this recipe. If you use canned chick piece it won't' be the same, as your falafel will be mushy and will fall apart so easily. Chickpiece are rich source of vitamins, minerals, and fiber. May offer a variety of health benefits, such as improving digestion. aiding weight management and reducing the risk of several diseases. Additionally, chick piece is high in protein and makes an excellent replacement for meat in vegetarian and vegan diets. I would heavily recommend to soak chickpea overnight, and use it to prepare the falafel dough.

What are the ingredients for falafel shawarma?

Ingredients

For Falafel

Chickpea-1/2 cup
Coriander seeds-1 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Garlic cloves-5
Spring onion-2 tbsp{Chopped}
Coriander leaves-1 handful
Lemon juice-1 tbsp
Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
Baking soda-1/4 tsp
Bread-1
Salt
Oil for frying

For Wrap

Pita bread /Kubbus-4 nos
French fries-1 cup
Grated cabbage-1/2 cup
Capsicum/Bell pepper-1 tbsp
Lettuce-1/4 cup{Chopped}
Tomato-1 {Chopped}
Cucumber-1/4 cup{Chopped}

Preparation

  • Firstly, soak chickpea with enough water for 2 hours. Drain off the water and transfer to a blender or food processor.
  • Also add roasted coriander seeds and cumin seeds, garlic, spring onion, coriander leaves, lemon juice, pepper powder, baking soda, bread and salt to taste.
  • Blend coarsely in a food processor without adding any water.
  • Transfer to a bowl.
  • Now wet your hands and prepare small sized balls.
  • Deep fry the ball in hot oil, also stir occasionally, keep the flame on medium.
  • Once the falafel turns golden brown, drain off on to the kitchen tissue or strainer.
  • Finally, Falafel is ready.
For the wrap build
  • Cut about 1 inch top of each pita, forming a pocket. Spread garlic mayonnaise and ketchup, then top with french fries, cabbage, capsicum, lettuce,4 shredded falafels to each pita, tomato and cucumber.add some garlic mayonnaise on top, roll up tight and eat.
Method
