How To Make Beef Curry | Beef Recipes

Nadan Beef Curry | Spicy Kerala Beef Curry is a popular dish in Kerala, a flavourful spicy Beef Curry which pairs well this rice, appam,porotta or rotti.In thattukada or street food joints, this is in high demand with porottas. This curry is best made using a pressure cooker or traditional earthenware.

What are the ingredients for beef curry?

Ingredients

Coconut oil-3 tbsp
Shallots-6
Dried chilly-3
Ginger-4 tbsp
Garlic-3 tbsp
Onion-3
Green chilly-4
Tomato-
Beef - 3/4 kg
Turmeric powder-1 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri chilly powder-1 tbsp
Coriander powder-2 tbsp
Red chilly powder-1 tbsp
Garam masala-2 tsp
Pepper powder-1 tsp
Fennel powder-2 tsp
ghee-1 tsp
Cardamom-3
Water-1/2 cup
salt
Curry leaves

Preparation
  • Heat coconut oil in a pressure cooker.
  • Add red chilly and shallots, allow to cook for a minute. Stir and saute well till golden brown then add ginger garlic, green chilly, onion and tomato mix well
  • Add beef, turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilly powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder,garam masala, pepper powder, fennel powder, ghee, cardamom, and salt. Stir and allow the spices to cook on a low flame. Add curry leaves. Stir well,  tossing to coat the beef well with this masala mixture.
  • Add water to wash off your laddle and moisten the beef.
  • Cover and pressure cook on medium flame for 6 steam whistles.
  • Allow to cool before opening.
METHOD

*Then add ginger garlic, green chilly, onion and tomato mix well.

*Add beef, turmeric powder, Kashmiri chilly powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder,garam masala, pepper powder, fennel powder, ghee, cardamom, and salt. Stir and allow the spices to cook on a low flame. Add curry leaves. Stir well,  tossing to coat the beef well with this masala mixture.


*Add water to wash off your ladle and moisten the beef.

*Cover and pressure cook on medium flame for 6 steam whistles.

*Allow to cool before opening.




Serve with rice appam, porotta, roti etc.
